GRATITUDE CHALLENGE Day 5

Take five minutes to write about how grateful you are for all of the wonderful things that you currently have in your life. Don’t long for what you don’t possess—instead, take stock of all the blessings you already enjoy.

WATER! ... I love to feel it, drink it, see it! SUN ... so bright and warm! FAMILY & FRIENDS  ... my generous, helpful foundation! HOME ... never taken for granted! ELECTRICITY ... so wonderful to have such a miracle!

Mark Twain word art 2

What a gorgeous Fall day it is!!  A few windows are open to let the fresh, country air in ... the sun is warming up the house just right. It's the kind of day I just want to sit on the deck and take it all in. Communing with nature at it's best is what it is, lol. Good thing I already had this word art ready or there would be nothing from me today! LOL Oh...rest assured, I checked & checked and double checked again to be sure these are excellent! Ü The 14 MB zip also contains the word art tags WITHOUT ties/ribbon - play around and try them stapled, clipped, tucked under & behind ... well, you get the idea. Extracted, designed, & created by me for your digital scrapping pleasure, enjoy ... and leave a little thank you ... not much to ask ; )

GRATITUDE CHALLENGE day 4
.

Write a short message of thanks for some of the “negative” things in your life.

This is actually easy ... since I was diagnosed with MS 14 years ago, I have grown in all areas of my life. For that BIG negative, I am finally able to say thank you! What's the saying ... when you're on your knees, look up. In my case, I am looking WITHIN.

Mark Twain word art

You know what? Well let me tell you ... Fall is here and I barely gave it a thought! Hmmm, that's not good to be so distracted, missing the arrival of my FAVORITE season. My excuse, I have been working on my blog ... I organized the "Freebies, Tuts & Ideas" categories ... ahhh, better! (check out the tag cloud too!) I found stuff I had forgotten about - mostly journaling tips. With 112 posts, no wonder I can't keep track! Maybe the update will help you find whatever you're looking for - anyway, let me know if it works better for you. The search box that matched the blog didn't work well, so I got rid of it - GONE - GOODBYE, out of the way now. Header update - DigiVickie's word art. And then, the "Tutorials & Help" list is updated. ; )
.
I discovered a file of Mark Twain word art sitting in my computer that I have never shared before ... vintage/heritage style ... hope you can use it. I split up the file - will be sending more later.

Monday FunDay

A man walked into the Women's Department of Macy's in New York City.
He told the saleslady "I would like a Baptist bra for my wife, size 36B."

With a quizzical look the saleslady asked? "What kind of bra?"

He repeated "A Baptist Bra - She said to tell you that she wanted a Baptist Bra, and that you would know what she wanted."

"Ah, now I remember" said the saleslady. "We don't get as many requests for them as we used to. Mostly our customers lately want the Catholic bra, or the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian type."

Confused, and a little flustered, the man asked "So, what are the differences?"

The lady responded. "It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses. The Salvation Army lifts up the fallen; the Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright."

He mused on that information for a minute, and asked "So, what is the Baptist type for?"

"They," she replied, "make mountains out of molehills."

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F,G, and H are the letters used to define bra sizes? If you have wondered why, but couldn't figure out what the letters stood for, it is time you became informed!

{A} Almost Boobs.
(B} Barely there.
{C} Can't Complain!
{D} Dang!
{DD} Double dang!
{E} Enormous!
{F} Fake.
{G} Get a Reduction.
{H} Help me, I've fallen and I can't get up.

Small town life & quickpages

Let me tell you one thing that my small town doesn't have ... GOURMET food! I don't mean foie gras or quinoa (oh my, I dare you to walk in a store around here and ask for either, LOL). No, I just wanted pancetta to make "Spaghetti Carbonara" (Tom Cruise made it on Oprah - it looked good). PANCETTA - Italian bacon - it was worth a shot. I've never seen it, never eaten it, but I knew it had to be good - 'cause all the best chefs use it!
.
Well, unbelievably, the grocery store had it! Yippee - a miracle! We made the recipe as directed, but the pancetta was gooey & sticky as it fried. I thought it was strange but kept cooking ... finished the dish and served it up. It didn't taste good ... but it didn't taste spoiled, so we ate with no plans to try this recipe again. Or if I do, I'll use regular, good ole bacon.
.
Next day, I felt bad ... ut oh diarrhea ... that does it! No more gourmet, exotic food from these Southern small town grocers ... even if they have an item, you never know how old it is :( Don't get me wrong - the town has progressed so much - we have mangoes, avocadoes, tiramisu, couscous, wine varieties, etc., but there are just some things lacking ... and it's ok ... I'm ok.
.
If you're still with me after all that, maybe these quickpages will cheer you up. I made them from my layout in the previous post - choose with or without the word art. Enjoy!

I like to try out my work too to be sure it's good enough for y'all! This quote moves my heart & soul, so I just had to use it on a layout. Hope it gives you some ideas and boosts your creativity. How about that book in the middle?!? Isn't that the coolest thing for previewing layouts? It's a Square PhotoBook Action that Danielle has in her store, Something Blue Studios. It works with Photoshop CS, CS2, CS3, and CS4, and following the instructions, it was soooo easy! You really should visit her store!

Painted Garden

I was playing around with Art Rage yesterday during my quiet Sunday, trying to make something ... anything ... useful. I just love the "oil paint" texture in the program - problem is, I haven't mastered it! (even though I've used it occasionally for years, lol) But I DID make some circle blob things & a stem & a leaf ; ) Put together with Art Rage's awesome glitter, there it is, below. I think it's kinda cute. Tomorrow (if you want it), I'll give you all the separate parts. *Idea, e.g., the circles could be recolored, layered on top of each other, resized, added to the center of other flowers in your stash, etc. For anyone who doesn't scrapbook digitally, these graphic downloads are high resolution for print & resize clarity, perfect for cards too!

*Personal/SFO Use only - high res. 300 dpi word art image ...

Luvin' Autumn

Since my last post on Wednesday, a lot has been going on. Doctors, storms, power outage, and car trouble ... too much for one day!

My routine doctor appointment went alright. He was chatting with me in an unusual, friendlier than usual way and I felt that finally ... a doctor that cares enough to actually get to know his patient. :) Yeah, right! NOT ... he then announced that he was chatting with me not to be chatting, but to test my cognitive abilities! I know with MS, those things can happen ... but how tricked I felt. Doh, I dislike doctors even more! Thanks doc!

Then, we get to the car (barely beating the impending storm) only to find out it wouldn't start. We thought the battery was the problem, so a kind gentleman offered to jump it with his car ... no luck. Still, trying to get out of there before the storm hit, we called a repair truck & settled in to wait. While waiting, the storm came with a fury ... lightning, wind, pouring rain ... and here we are, sitting in the hot, humid car ... waiting. Finally, as the storm was ending, the repairman arrived, the battery connection fixed, 85 dollars paid, we headed home.

HOME So nice to be home, except there was no power! What a perfect ending to this trying day. LOL We survived!!

Looking for something more positive to think about, I thought about my favorite season, Autumn. This word art happened as a result. Enjoy!

Strangest thing happened - JOY

I woke up this morning with a childhood song in my head and I can't stop singing it to myself ... irritating at first, now I think it came to me for good reason. Oh by the way, the song is "Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down In My Heart" ... if you know it or have heard it, then you know the repetition can get so annoying after a while ((( CALGON, take me away!! ))) Just listen HERE for yourself and then tell me that you wouldn't feel the same way. LOL It goes like this -

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

I've got the love of Jesus,
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
I've got the love of Jesus
Down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

I've got peace and understanding
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
Down in my heart
I've got peace and understanding
Down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

I've got the brightest light in the
Depths of my heart
Depths of my heart
Depths of my heart
I’ve got the brightest light in the
Depths of my heart
In the depths of my heart to stay

I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy

OK, I have heard it,

sung it,

wrote about it,

3D September

-

SEPTEMBER MORN by Neil Diamond

Stay for just a while
Stay, and let me look at you
It's been so long, I hardly knew you
Standing in the door
Stay with me a while
I only want to talk to you
We've traveled halfway round the world
To find ourselves again
September morn
We danced until the night became a brand new day
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Look at what you've done
Why, you've become a grown-up girl
I still can hear you cryin'
In the corner of your room
And look how far we've come
So far from where we used to be
But not so far that we've forgotten
How it was before
September morn
Do you remember how we danced that night away
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way

Yeah, yeah ... it's an oldie, but it's about September :)   AND Neil Diamond is a sweetie!
